Day of Reflection, Meditation, and Prayer - June 14th

On Sunday, June 14, we will pause to remember the lessons from the Truth Commission. It was on this day in 2015 when the Commission issued its final report and findings. We learned about ways to improve child welfare.

We call on people and communities of faith to pause on this day in gratitude for all who told their stories, for the Commission and its staff who gathered them with care, and for people across this territory who honor their stories by committing themselves to learning and promoting change.  In our reflections, meditations, or prayers, may we join with the efforts for truth, healing, and change.

Here is a prayer you can lift up that day: 5-year Celebration of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Work

We know that faith communities across this territory are using online technology to gather in celebration and in worship. Members of REACH’s Decolonizing Faith project are producing recorded content to share with faith communities. This recorded service will include music, prayer, and reflections that guide our work to decolonize and restore our world.

It will be available to access beginning June 12.
